Answer:
What is the true nature of humankind?
We generally imagine ourselves to be discreet individuals who are responsible for making our own decisions and providing for our own needs and the needs of those close to us. But because of our connection and interdependence with all people and all of life, we are, in fact, responsible for the well-being of others as integral members of one common body of life on Earth.
Our ignorance of our responsibility to each other is at the heart of every problem and challenge we are currently facing, no matter what arena or scale you may choose.
Conversely, once we grasp the essence of our inter-relationship, the true nature of humankind emerges: to put the concern for others at least as high as concern for ourselves. The result will be humankind living and working in harmony with each other and with the natural world that supports all of life.
We get to choose whether we continue in ignorance and separation, or whether we embrace our unity and mutual responsibility for lifting each other to our highest common good.
