My GP told me I need glasses - being a full time uni student and a single mum and only working part time - I can't really afford to go through the assessment in examining my eyes.
I'm not too bad - I just can't see far, just a bit blurry not a complete haze...so I was going to try my luck in getting cheap glasses with no prescription...
any help will be appreciated

you are going to need prescription glasses if you cant see far away, the cheap glasses they sell at stores are only for reading, anyone can have reading glasses, but if you cant see well, you need a prescription.
You can find non-prescriptions distance glasses online as well - http://sunglasses.lovetoknow.com/Non_Prescription_...
You can even find eye charts online - http://www.i-see.org/eyecharts.html
I would suggest saving up and going to the eye-doctor, but if not you can buy some here - http://www.readingglassesshopper.com/negative-powe...
