External mucus is generally too caused by gastropod, when the snails crowls on the ground.
These are generally secreted from the foot of the snails, which contains protiens.
Snail slime is commonly used in the cosmetics used by the humans.
Most Imporatnt Point is that only the snails which crowl on grounds excretes mucus.
Not living inside rivers, mariens, etc.
