I have an Nvidia Geforce 8600 GT installed that i got from a friend that has used this same graphics card to play the Sims 3. The graphics card will play other games such as Oblivion on the highest graphics setting, but the Sims 3 just wont start. I keep getting this error message and i am getting frustrated...please help...I have all the updated drivers and the sims 3 website, along with systemrequirements.org say that i should easily be able to play the game...I assure you that all of the other spec's of my PC are good enough for this game, I just can't get it to recognize it...thanks for any help
Why does "no supported video graphics card detected" come up when I try to play the Sims 3 on my PC?

Try reinstalling DirectX.
That video card is more than enough to run The Sims 3, and if it's not a driver issue, that's the only other thing that immediately comes to mind.
Unless you're using a pirated version of the game...
i think the key to your problem is that you have a netbook, check for graphics driver updates, you just might get lucky. why do you buy a netbook for games
