It is difficult to walk on sand or Ice because surface of ice contains a thin layer of water which acts as lubricant.
This makes people to slip on it.
It is hard towalk on sand as sand consists of very small and loosely packed particles due to this when we put our leg into sand, sand loosens up and so our leg sinks.
