Antibiotics medium are used to mark or select transformant and recombinant , so you could say antibiotics used as selectable markers with marker gene.
and
vectors carry an antibiotic resistant gene which helps to select the recombinant cells from non recombinant cells and ones as only recombinant cells would exhibit the antibiotic resistance. and will able to survive on antibiotic rich medium . such genes that the host cell requires for growth under certain conditions and has a differ the recombinant cells from non ones are call as selectable marker.
hence option a is correct....
hope it will help you..
:) and sorry dued
