Sportsman spirit encounter narration.
Explanation:
Last year during the national championship games, there was a team that qualified as a group.
The team was made up of three athletes from the same county, in the course of running, one of the athletes fell down, the two went to his rescue and shockingly, they took the top numbers that is 12 and 3.
Same as in the story Nine Gold Medals, the athletes helped the other one out and won as a team.
Answer:
Nine Gold Medals is written by David Roth.
"In this poem, the poet highlights the importance of participating in the game. As per him, winning is not important, what is important is participation and accepting the fate with positivity. It means that one has to accept the outcome and move on.
In the poem, the poet quotes an incident of a Special Olympics racing event in which one of the nine athletes flipped by chance and lost all hopes to win the race, but the moment he had fallen down, other athletes came out to help him so that he can stand back on his feet and continue the race. This showed the spirit of sportsmanship, which we all need to have. It shows that humanity is above all.
One such incident took place with me in last sports meet where I had participated in a race. I had my opponent close to me while I was completing the race and suddenly had fallen down, I was not expecting, but my opponent came to help me so that I could complete the race."
