It doesn't matter where I'm at or what Jack's Aquarium store I go to they all seem to be nasty and the employees have bad attitudes and are not good at helping or checking out customers.
By nasty I mean:
the stores are dirty
the animal cages stink
dead fish and lizards in tanks
sick rabbits, dogs, cats ext.
For the employees:
I took 6 goldfish in and they said 2 bucks a piece knowing fully well they charge more to resell I only got paid for 5 because the woman smashed one with the net and said she couldn't pay me cause it may not make it.. it was clearly her fault...
I brought 200 minnows and was only given 99
I had picked out some fish and a young girl had gotten them out of the tank and put they on the counter to bag up and one of the employees said I couldn't have the fish because another customer had already picked them out but the customer was busy talking on her phone and yelling at her kid clearly not ready to check out...
another time I bought 5 tiger barbs and one was on back order and they would call me when the next shipment came in and they never called me so I paid for 5 fish and only got 4.
They want to tell you what you can and cant do with your pet but they don't even take proper care of their own
The main stores I deal with are located in Bellefontaine and Springfield Ohio.
I have also visited Columbus Ohio and they are quite nasty in the animal care
Has anyone noticed the service and the cleanliness and who will never go to a jacks Aquarium store again? I know I wont!

I have gone to Jacks in Dayton and Middletown and never experienced any of the problems you saw. Like many pet shops they often have pet rodents in the same area as the fish. My wife is deadly allergic to hamsters and such, so she has to look briefly at the fish then run out and use her inhaler. I wish more stores would put the allergy producing critters in a back room with separate ventilation.
