The letter (R), next to a players name tells you that during that season they are a rookie, or in their first years as an NFL player.
Whatever number is between the parenthesis are how many years they have been in the NFL. (2) would mean, in the NFL for 2 years. And (R) would mean rookie, very first season.
If you were looking on the Raven's site. R means rookie. He's still young and talented. I doubt he'd retire just after one season.
No.
He was a rookie last season, which would explain the (R) and the website has probably not been updated lately.
Rookie Dumb A5S
