Im 15, a girl, 5'2 115-120 lbs if that helps.
I heard weight training tones your whole upper body, i know a bunch of diff ways to lift them but how heavy should they be?
i feel comfortable at 5lbs(lol i kno im weak), but my muscles don't feel very sore the next day... which would be a good sign.

the weight your using is fine..since you are a girl you should stick to less weight and more reps to tone your body rather then build muscle and gain weight..your fine with the 5 pounds just increase your reps for each set you do

Well do what ever feels comfortable, The best way is is do like
14 reps of a lower weight
10-12 reps of a slightly higher weight
8-10 reps of a slightly higher weight
This is probably your best bet, find a weight which you are happy with.
Five pounds is good, just do more sets/reps to get that sore feeling the next day. If you used 10 lb ones right now, you might not be able to lift them very good.
