I mean seriously he got down to .250 once and has a career .279 average that is NOT bad. Are people really that retarded to say he sucks at average because of one bad season???? And his strikeout rate has nothing to do with his average.
(he struckout 180 times in 2006 and stil batted .313)

Nobody says he sucks, he's one of the best power hitters in the game today. He strikes out a lot, that's his only problem. He is way better then average, imagine if teams didn't play the shift on him..he would be hitting in the 300's every year or if he can learn to hit the other way.
Howard did bat .313 and won the MVP in 2006 but the following years he batted .268 (2007) and .251 in (2008) striking out a staggering 398 times. I think it was a combination of the two that some began to come down on him a little.
Regardless of the two low batting seasons and the strikeouts he's still a .280 lifetime hitter which does not suck.
He doesn't suck at average, but he needs to cut down the strikeouts. As you get older, you get less power. Unless Howard cuts down on strikeouts, his future stats could look like .260 with 30 sum homers and more strikeouts like 200
ya thats great
Pujols has averaged .330 throughout his career
and he hits just as many HR as Howard
and strikeouts do affect your average
sure howard is good, but not that good
PUJOLS MVP 2010
he never got me to come under 10 seconds that's why he sucks at a average level :/ Pwned!!
When you hit as many home runs as he does, you don't need a .300 avg.
