To show that they are government property. In some areas like in colleges, they are numbered and kept count of. You will have to take permission from goverment to cut them.
trees are painted white & brown by lime with 'morchud' as white and geru as brown used as pestisides which prevents insects, termites to cause damage to trees.
its' because white and brown are contrast colors..they get the attention of the drivers so that they don't get off the road.it is to make them aware at nights.
it make them noticeble in night when we drive a vehicle and it aware us that road ends there
